What we're reading:
The Art of Relevance
Nina Simon leads the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History and writes the blog, Museum 2.0.
In her new book, The Art of Relevance, Simon explores the ways mission-driven organizations can matter more to more people. The book is built on examples from Simon's own organization and from libraries, museums, and arts groups in the U.S. and abroad. It's as much a manifesto on behalf of the opportunities that await organizations that are able to unlock the potential for relevance, as it is a handbook of practical, "how to" information for organizations that need help creating a path. You'll want to read this book, but also keep it on your bookshelf to pick up whenever you're short of ideas or inspiration.
