It's exciting to be working as Entrepreneur in Residence at the Minneapolis Institute of Art to explore and test new programming ideas that also can result in new revenue for the organization.
In summer 2014 we created Hothouse @ArtsMIA, a 12-week pop up coworking experiment involving 35 entrepreneurs, small nonprofits, and small businesses who agreed to work at least 20 hours per week in the museum's Villa Rosa Room and to use the museum's collection in their work. In 2015 we are exploring the development of classes, workshops, and seminars that could be offered for adults that draw on the museum's collections and expertise, and for which a fee could be charged.
